Geocache Description:

Easy to access from popular walking, boating and cycling routes. The area can get busy with passers-by so care my need to be taken retrieving the cache, hence a difficulty of 2. A pleasant place for a picnic or just to pause for a while and watch the world go by.

The cache is a small tupperware container in camo bag, containing a few small items.

Part of the Grand Union Canal and built in 1779, the Erewash Canal runs from Langley Mill to Trent Lock, about 12miles long with 14 sets of locks. Last used for commercial narrow boat trade in the early 1950's it remains popular for leisure craft into the 21st century. It is also part of the National Cycle Network Route 67.

The cache is within easy walking distance along the Erewash Canal from Ilkeston and Sandiacre or along the Nutbrook Trail.

Keep an eye on small children due to the cache being situated near water.

*** Well done Liljake FTF***
