4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

This cache is attached to the Old Margaret River Railway Bridge apparently opened in 1924. The railway aligment is now used as a bike and walk path. Its an awesome pathway system that is worth a visit in either direction. To the north of Carters Road there are quite a few impressive bridges on the way to Cowaramup.

The cache is one of those micros with a small scroll and tiny pencil. Might be good to bring a back up pencil. To access the cache you can park at the end of Ashton Street (33S 56' 27.6366 115E 4' 10.4025 and follow paths or Carters Road parking area (33S 56' 2.9386 115E 4' 10.4025 and head south across the road along the railway path.
An interesting point to note is apparently that between 1900-1914, aproximately 17 million railway sleepers were cut from the forests in the Margaret River and Augusta region.
The cache is not near flowing water in winter so don't go near the river.
Cache replaced September 2012
