4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

This is easy to access and intended to show that there is a beautiful forest right in the mainstreet of Margaret River. To protect it and the Margaret River, the Margaret River Rain Garden was constructed and the cache is right in the middle of this garden. The cache is easy to get to along gravel paths and should be an easy find. Park your car in Higgins Street or commercial carpark.

The cache has a small scroll and tiny pencil. Best to bring a backup pencil.

The 'Margaret River Rain Garden' is an innovative engineering exercise intended to strip nutrients flowing in stormwater off the Margaret River mainstreet before reaching the river. A local catchment group, ironically called Geocatch had received a grant from the South West Catchment Council for stormwater
planning in Margaret River. Geocatch agreed to put this toward the Margaret River Rain garden and engaged engineering consultants to design a bioretention basin for the site. Significant trees were mapped and three basins were designed around these.
