Geocache Description:

Listed coordinates are for The Childrens Gate, one of the gated entrances to Central Park. Each gate was named by Olmsted and Vaux, the park's designers, for the type of person they anticipated entering the park from that area. The cache is not there, to find the actual cache location, you will need to solve the puzzle below.

Originally the Childrens Gate was positioned by Olmsted and Vaux at 72nd Street, where the Inventors Gate currently stands. In the 1950's when Robert Moses was Parks Commissioner he renamed the gate at 72nd Street, and moved the Childrens Gate to the 64th Street entrance to the Central Park Zoo. That entrance had previously been unnamed.

Nearby Central Park Zoo is considered by many to be a highlight of the park, and is a great place to take kids and to teach them the names of all the animals.
