Geocache Description:

Located at a private business, hidden with owner's permission. Building has been sold. I need to archive as construction will be ongoing.

Located at a wood worker's shop in an old firehouse. Room for very small items only. Engine Co. #9 was built in 1888. Horse drawn wagons were used for years. The smaller section in the back was the stable at one time. One of the most famous horses in the stable was Billy. He served over eight years in the fire service. The moment the bell sounded, he became very animated. If a blaze was visible and Billy had a free rein, he would dash right to it. The City of Pgh stopped using it as a firehouse in the early 1970's. A new firehouse was built up on the hill. The building served as a base for paramedics for a short time. It was eventually sold to a private owner (my husband and I) in 1984 and continues on it's third life.
