Geocache Description:

This area is called Contact Point but was formerly known as the Lighthouse Trail. It was originally created by the Lake Havasu Lighthouse Club with the help of the 2006 Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Development Class. It is the AZ State Parks' only park that is free to the public.

Though the originally planned lighthouse never was placed in this area, Lake Havasu is home to more lighthouses than any other city in America. These 1/3 scale replicas are actual functioning navigational aids, built to the specifications of famous East and West Coast lighthouses.

There are currently 15-20 dotting the shores of the lake, with several others planned by the Lake Havasu Lighthouse Club. This group of area residents saw a need to improve safety for boaters on the lake and incorporated the club as a nonprofit organization to chart their course.

The cache location is a short hike from a nice parking lot with plenty of parking spots, large enough for motorhomes or trailers. The well-defined trail may get muddy in places on those rare occasions when we've had rain.

Your dogs are welcome, but PLEASE pick up after them!

The cache is a regular size ammo box with plenty of room for trackables and other treasures. Please trade even or trade up ~ no junk!

Enjoy the scenic beauty of this picturesque spot but be careful of some "sharp pokeys" around the cache area... The terrain rating is mostly for uneven ground and slope.

Coordinates will get you close ~ use your geosense to find the cache! Ammo boxes are not that difficult to locate... Please hide as well as you can.

WARNING: AS WOULD BE A TYPICAL CONCERN IN DESERT CACHES, A SNAKE HAS BEEN SEEN AROUND THE CACHE CONTAINER IN THE WARM SEASON; PLEASE USE CAUTION, AND A LONG STICK TO CHECK FOR UNWELCOME VISITORS....

Congrats to zoonslikezoey for FTF ~ and thanks for uploading the photo!
