Geocache Description:

Unfortunate event #35 involves a backpacking trip to Yosemite.
We were hiking to the summit of Half Dome which has to be one of the coolest hikes in the world and I feel fortunate enough to have done it before.
This time I was not as fortunate. When you get to the last 1/4 mile you literally have pull yourself up and walk holding a steel cable because you are almost horizontal to the granite rock. Its scary, exciting, dangerous and a complete adrenaline rush. One slip and your history and probably anyone else below you.
On this day it was 93 degrees and I had started getting cramps in my quads but still wanted to try to summit.
This is one time my ego and overconfidence almost got me. I got about half way up and the cramps started again and I couldn't move. I don't know how I got down.
I was dying in pain and had to keep hold of the cable while my legs just knotted up. I thought I might have to be rescued which would have been embaressing.
It was unfortunate not to be able to complete it but luckily I had done it before.
If your ever there. I highly recommend it.

The Journey is the Destination!
