Geocache Description:

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the coordinates above. I'm sure they would take you to a very nice location where you could enjoy God's creation. Ok, maybe not: it is the mall, and there is nothing remotely enjoyable about that! Regardless, if you want to find this cache, I don't recommend going there; I recommend solving the puzzle instead.


Warning: this is a bit of a nasty one; not designed for the math-challenged (yes, you know who you are!).

Leonardo Pisano Bigollo, also know as Leonardo Fibonacci, was a famous mathematician during the middle ages (reference: Fibonacci). One of his more famous accomplishments was the development of the Fibonacci Sequence, in which every number in the sequence is the sum of the previous two numbers. The sequence starts with (0, 1) and the first 10 numbers in the sequence are (0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34). I could base my puzzle on this sequence, but you could just look up the answers online. That's not evil enough.

As an alternate sequence, let's use (3,6) as the seed numbers for the sequence. Thus, this alternate sequence would start (3, 6, 9, 15, 24, 39, 63, 102, ....). So, if I asked you what the 3th number in the sequence is, you should reply 9. If you ask you the 10th number, you might mutter a bit, but you might be able to figure it out. If I was really evil, I might ask the 20th number ....
