This was the spot where Utsalady Grocery Store was located, as kids we would come in here and buy penny candy and pop. There was always a friendly face to greet us. Neighborhood stores were the best!
Years later the owner added hot lunches (BBQ's, soups and sandwiches) to eat on the picnic tables on the deck which was enjoyable for many area workers.
Sadly the store closed and was demolished in 2005 and then this development happened right before our very eyes. I say poop on that although it was for good intentions I guess.
You can park right next to the cache and remember your own stories about going to the Utsalady Store when you were younger.
