Couldn't resist hiding this Cache in one of the most beautiful parts of the Country.
Placed with kind permission from the National Trust.
Tye Rock stands on the cliff top between the small traditional fishing harbour of Porthleven and the breathtaking stretch of coastline known as Loe Bar, with the spectacular scenery of the Lizard Peninsula on the doorstep. An easy one-mile walk to Porthleven provides all the amenities, whilst the ancient market town of Helston is just two miles inland. Loe Bar is a mysterious sand barrier which separates Cornwall's largest freshwater lake, Loe Pool, from the sea. King Arthur's sword Excalibur was reputedly thrown into Loe Pool which is now part of the beautiful National Trust owned Penrose Estate and is a designated site of special scientific interest supporting major migratory wetland birds.
We were walking past this point between Porthleven and Looe Bar and couldn't resist stopping off to capture the view. We've had the Cache with us for a while and were looking for a good place to stash it.
The cache initially holds a FTF keyring, Log book, pen and some small swap toys.
The co-ordinates at the top of this page are as accurate as I could get although still about 5-8 paces from the Cache hide-out.
Parking is also available at the same co-ordinates.
Please be very careful as the cliffs here are very dangerous, take special care if accompanied by children and/or four-legged friends.
