Cedar Hill Cemetery Tour Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Team Monkeyboy: There are no trackables in the cache, so (hopefully) they've been moved on, but not logged yet. I will mark them missing in any case.

It is with heavy heart that we lay this one to rest. The location of the final is all but gone... a large hole in a large tree, which has deteriorated GREATLY since we first placed this cache. A large portion of the tree was destroyed earlier this year, and the remaining portion is rotting fast... I doubt if this tree will be standing much longer. We checked on it tonight, and it's not much more than a pile of mulch now.

So instead of reworking the puzzle, we're thinning the herd. A HUGE thank you to all who've found this one, and especially those who were gratious enough to share a favorite point.

Geocache Description:

The cache is not located at the listed coordinates, but your first puzzle hint is. Find the following locations, take note of the last names on the given markers, then use that information to solve the puzzle.

Final container is a small cammo'd peanut butter jar filled with swag (remember to trade up or trade even), and is NOT located near any headstones. As always, be respectful of the area. NO NIGHT CACHING. Gates close at 8pm.

Feel free to post pictures, as long as the last names necessary to solve the puzzle aren't shown in them (or they're obscured).

Cedar Hill Cemetery Tour

We'll begin our quest with the angels twin,
You'll need the last name of those found within:

" __ __ __ __ __ __ __ "

On to nearby " __ __ __ __ __ __ __ " with rod 'n' reel in hand,

And visit with " __ __ __ __ __ " (John's a steel drivin' man).

Another last name you'll need to derive,
From the site of twin towers once you have arrived:

N 40° 4.140 W 82° 23.116

" __ __ __ __ __ "

Then next on your journey you'll travel to stairs,

N 40° 4.094 W 82° 23.271

where you'll find the last name of the step owner's heirs:

" __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ "

A few more steps up to the urn of "JONES / REESE",
Past a pillar engraved for a German deceased.

Your next destination will give you a "chaise",

N 40° 4.180 W 82° 23.183

And the stone tree nearby features this latin phrase...

"IN HOC SIGNO VINCES" (in this sign you will conquer)

On this "family tree" you'll find the last name
You will need to complete this puzzling game:

" __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ "
