It was Another Saturday Night and I heard though the Coconut Telegraph that A Son of a Sailor had just blown into town with the Bama Breeze on his back as he watched the Stars fall on Alabama. He was with his favorite Brown Eyed Girl, Sweet Caroline. She was a Smart Woman, but a Hula Girl at Heart, a true Cuban Crime of Passion. He had been sailing from the Banana Republic, past the Southern Cross all night with the Fins to the Left and Fins to the Right, to get here for our regular Blue Heaven Rendezvous. We had the Boat Drinks at the Bar, Cheeseburgers and Gumbo were on the grill. Why don't we Get Drunk, "It's Five O'clock Somewhere" we all sang out and held up our Tin Cup Chalices with cheers to good ole Margaritaville.
It was A Salty Piece of Land, looked like a Beach House on the Moon, where we were all Barefootin' it with Island Fever ,we had our License to Chill that night. The old Jolly Mon with his Pencil Thin Moustache was playing his Six String Music as we all talked about the Changes in Latitudes and Changes in Attitudes, the Gypsies in the Palace, the Woman Goin' Crazy on Caroline Street, and how the Pirate Looks at Forty Went to Paris for the Last Mango. Our talks were filled with all sorts of Juicy Fruit Costal Confessions and our Bank of Bad Habits. Oh the Stories We Could Tell.
It seemed like we had an Ever Lasting Moon that night, but as it came to an end, all I could think was, I may be Growing Older, but Not Up, Come Monday I may return to work with all those Fruitcakes thinking to myself how Math Sucks, but my mind will never stop going back to the Volcano and A Love Song while enjoying my One Particular Harbour on the Far Side of the World.
We are the People Our Parents Warned us About!
How many Buffett Songs can you pick out of this?
