Only the brave need venture here and if you come at night, don't come alone! Dare you challenge The Witch Tree?
Known to generations of local folk as The Witch Tree (but nobody can remember why exactly), this ancient oak stands at a crossroads in a far corner of Llanharan parish amongst long forgotten lanes and rusted, forlorn signposts.
Many legends surround this tree. Were people hanged here long ago? Was it a meeting place for the rituals of witches?
The only thing that can be stated with any certainty is that this spot has an air of dark, forboding magic surrounding it.
Even on a bright Summer's Day, the dark atmosphere is almost overwhelming as if this place has never known joy.
If you risk travelling to this lonely spot, be comforted by the knowledge that it is possible to park very close to the cache's hiding place which lies no more than a few yards away from the tree's island itself.
If you survive the experience, you are searching for a one litre kliplock box containing swaps and a small FTF certificate.
Good Luck!
Congratulations to Glasfory for being the FTF!
***Container changed size (now micro) and position changed a little (along with hint)***
