Geocache Description:

This is along a fence line near a gate that we found while trying to find the tri-state marker.

The name for this cache came about when we came upon an 80-something-year-old rancher whose truck was totally blocking the two-track road as he was burying a water line that takes water to his cattle who he said were out there on the desert someplace, but he had no idea where they were at the time, and he wasn't making any effort to move his old truck either. I asked him if this was the road to the tri-state marker and if he knew where it was. He said, "Why the hell would anyone want to go there? They ought to give it back to the Indians!" He also told me that I couldn't get there from here because the tri-state area was on the other side of the wash. I tried to show him where it was on my GPS but he wasn't going to take its word for it and wouldn't even look at it. He said he'd lived long enough to know where the damned place was and didn't need any hi-tech gizmo telling him how to get lost out here in the desert. Who could argue with logic like that?
