Die „Discworld-Letters“ basieren auf den überaus lesenswerten Scheibenwelt-Romanen von Terry Pratchett, welche eindeutig zu meinen Lieblingsbüchern zählen.
Die Scheibenwelt ist – wie der Name schon verrät – eine scheibenförmige Welt, die auf den Rücken von 4 Elefanten ruht, welche wiederum auf der Sternen-Schildkröte „Groß-A’Tuin“ stehen, die durch den Welraum schwimmt. Wer’s nicht glaubt, muss die Bücher lesen :o)
Die Bücher sind im Fantasy-Genre angesiedelt, parodieren jedoch großteils die klassischen Fantasy- und Sciencefiction-Themen sowie unsere Mythen, Legenden und Märchen.
So gibt es etwa Helden im Pensionsalter (Cohen), untote Anwälte, Trolle, Zwerge, Menschen, Werwölfe und noch viele mehr bei der Stadtwache und auch die Zahnfee und alles was man sich vorstellen kann, ist einfach Realität selbst der Tod wandelt als anthropomorphe Person durch die Welt.
