Geocache Description:

A lock n lock box hidden in Whitley Wood. At time of placing the cache contained a log book, FTF keyring for FTF, a magnetic keysafe to encourage someone to place a cache of their own and a few other swaps.

This cache is hidden in Whitley Wood, a wooded area behind the European Weather Centre and Shinfield Park.
Things have changed a little in this area since Google Earth took its piccies and the latest OS map was printed. The new housing development has extended on land that used to belong to the Weather centre.
I've been wondering (and wandering), and went for an explore in the woods. There are several places I could have placed a cache but I settled on here.
I've added a waypoint for a metal gate that allows access to the footpath, but there are several others along Pascal crescent. If anyone has other waypoints to get to the footpath, let me know and I will add them.

EDIT 15/2/2012
Changes to maps on GC means you should now find this much easier to find. If you walk along Pascal Crescent, you should find a number of metal gates, including the one way marked, that will get you to the required path.
You will not need to leave the path to reach GZ.
The path was a bit muddy in places when I placed the cache.
