Laid off again! From start to finish I was with this company for
nearly four-years, with a short break in the middle. This time the
axe fell just before a department-wide meeting on Martin Luther
King day. My boss pulled me aside as I headed for the meeting room
and brought me to another office with paperwork and an HR person,
instead. 20 minutes later I was in the car wondering what just
happened.
I'll miss this company. For the last couple years I was able to
work from home whenever I wished and had become familiar with the
applications I was responsible for. And now it all starts over.
Despite all the stress and strain of job hunting, starting a new
job really is a lot of fun, though. Can't wait to see where I end
up next.
My boss's office is in the building across the street, right
above the "II." He doesn't face the window, though, so no waving
necessary for this one (see Laid Off: MetroWest).
The container used for this cache came from Illinois. I visited
my parents a couple weeks ago and dropped some travel bugs in a
cache near their home. The owner of that cache
thoughtfully left "seed caches" - a container, logbook and pencil -
for others to take and place on their own. Thanks to alleslapp for the container.
Please be sure the cache is well hidden before you leave. And,
as always, let me know if there are maintenance problems that I
need to address.
Each cache in my Laid Off series is listed below. This series
represents all the different locations I've worked over the last
seven years:
Five extra points if you find this one and Laid Off: MetroWest
in the same day.
