Geocache Description:

Cache is on flat terrain, near a sidewalk and parking.

The cache is hidden on the high north bank of the Greenbrier River, near the "old bridge" (as it is known in town). This bridge is the pride of Alderson, beautifully restored to its 1914 design. It is open to vehicles only for the Independence Day and Christmas parades.

Across Route 12 is the Alderson Renaissance Building, formerly Alderson National Bank. Also in view of the cache is the Greenbrier Interpretive Center, which has an Alderson history room, coffee and pie shop and river room. This building used to be a Gulf gas station, and was renovated in recent years.

This cache gets its name from a famous rubber ducky race down the Greenbrier River that occurs every 5th of July during the town's week long celebration!
