Geocache Description:

Slight Detour for the Road following the river.

As is often the case when the marginal resources of an area must be shared for different types of transit sometimes a detour is necessary to co-exist.
As the South River Road follows the Sacramento River heading South it makes a slight detour away from the river and crosses under a defunct rail line that also followed the river going south. The rail line has become a Rail To Trails area ( Clarksburg Branch Line Trail ) for the residents of West Sacramento but the detour remains.
The detour goes for barely a mile and resumes it roadway along the river as it continues in a Southerly direction.
