This event involves a hike in the smokies last March. It had snowed there and my brother, sister and myself were hiking to Alum Cave......We never made it.
The trail crossed several bridges and eventually we got to one and I was walking behind my sister when she slipped on the snow covered bridge.
She landed on her butt and somehow, started sliding off the edge. She went over and somehow managed to grab the bottom of the bridge and hang for what seemed like forever but was only seconds before letting go and landing in the icy creek below.
I managed to get down there and help her out with everyone watching. She was embaressed so I tried to calm her down. Her cell phone and camera got wet to top it off.
She survived but I don't think she'll be hiking with me again.
The last time she hiked with me I took a picture of her as she threw up on the trail. That wasn't very nice.
Just glad she only got banged up a little. We turned back so she wouldn't get frost bite.
She does laugh about it now.
