Geocache Description:

EN: Police Road Traffic (PVT) was a former security force in Portugal, responsible for monitoring compliance with laws and regulations on land roads and road transport, especially on the roads outside the towns. It was abolished in 1970. One picturesque aspect of the old PVT was their police stations, in the form of a kiosk, cylindrical body and dynamic horizontal slab protruding, placed along roads, entrances of villages, bridges or other strategic road points. Many of them still exist, most having been adapted for non-police functions.

On “Posto No. 23” there is even a scale that weighed the load of trucks to decide whether they could travel or not. The best thing was to take a "gift" that would guarantee to proceed. Also farmers, who were going to sell in the market, with their donkey carts, could count with less potatoes and cabbage, when passing through there. For them, the cache.
