McWalkies: Unfortunately due to the difficulty reading the information panel at stage 4, the fact that the area floods during the winter and seems to become a campsite for the homeless during warmer weather, and that access to the bonus cache has become more restrictive over recent years, I am reluctantly archiving this cache. Thank you to everyone who has visited over the years.

Geocache Description:

A short walk around one of Canterbury's parks that was originally a family home but given to the city in 1936. Look out for the 200 year old oriental plane tree which is rumoured to contain a circular iron seat that used to stand around it!

Although the final cache location is available 24 hours a day the answers to the questions can only be collected when the park is open, which are basically daylight hours - closing time varies from 4pm in the winter to 9pm in the summer.

You are looking for number clues that will lead you to the final cache location at
N51.1A BCD E001 0D.ECB. The above coordinates will take you to the first clue.

The first 3 stages are on paved paths but the final part of the walk is on grass which can be very muddy in the winter and after heavy rain.

1) N51 16.887 E001 04.532 The number of vowels in the name of the underwater sculpture by Jason deCaires Taylor = D (though if you want to see the sculpture itself, it must be done in the summer when the water is clearer and the level is lower!) *

The cache has been downsized after several suspected mugglings, and now only has room for a logbook; please bring your own pen. The front of the log book contains the first half of the coordinates you will need to find "A walk in the park bonus" cache so remember to make a note of them. The other half can be found in 'A walk in the park #2.

From the cache location you can continue following the path until you reach a cycle route that bears left to the city centre which will take you to 'A walk in the park #2' (GC2NX4M) or cross the river at that point and either turn right to follow the river back to your starting point or left to find 'Canterbury river walk' (GC25KVD). Why not try out the new adult exercise equipment while you are there?
