Geocache Description:


Little is known about this memorial which overlooks the town of Oldmeldrum.

The Meldrum and Bourtie Heritage Society has restored the Elizabeth MacPherson Memorial bench and have tried to discover the identity of this lady who had left her mark on the community.
Elizabeth was born in Oldmeldrum in 1860, and in 1886 she married Evan MacPherson who later became a cotton manufacturer in Manchester. She died there in 1904 leaving her husband and two children.



Little else has been discovered but maybe you know some more?

Either way it is a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the views over the town towards Bennachie.
