Staunton River State Park is one of the original six state parks in Virginia. The park is tucked away neatly in Southside Virginia between the Dan and Staunton Rivers just at the threshold of Buggs Island Lake. The missing numbers can be found as follows:

A = “built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the early 19_0s”
B = “the park lies on _,400 acres between the Dan and Staunton Rivers”
C = “The park was recognized in 200_ as a National Historic Landmark”
D = “an Olympic size pool with a _0 foot waterslide”

The cache container is a regular-sized container (about the size of a shoe-box), and is hidden by natural ground cover. This cache will contain some interesting history about Staunton River State Park as well as Buggs Island Lake, a log book, a collector's card, as well as first, second, and third to find gifts.

This cache was part of the 2011 Virginia State Parks 75th Anniversary Geocaching Adventure. This series ended on December 15, 2011. However, the park has taken over this cache so it is still active. Rewards are no longer available for this cache, but we will be launching the Virginia State Park Blooming Adventure in March 2012. For upcoming information on the new series go to: www.virginiaoutdoors.com.
