Geocache Description:

You are looking for a cammo'd coffee container. This fire road follows the power line structures all the way to the ridge line so you can see the areas you'll be hiking/driving from the gate on Bouquet Cyn Rd. There are many trails and roads scattered across the Sierra Pelona Mountains....if you hike/drive far enough over the ridge line, you'll see many communication towers....and Ritter Ranch Park....and fantastic 360 degree views!

This is a beautiful trail up in scenic Bouquet Canyon....the trail is called Lincoln Crest...which is not far from the Pacific Crest Trail. The gate is locked but you can see that this fire road has been accessed by driving around the gate....not sure why some gates are locked and others remain open across these mountains...and not sure which pass may be required when driving/parking along these mountain roads...we have an Adventure Pass but we know there are other passes you could purchase...and we've heard that some off-road vehicles have been ticketed. There's a MRCA sign up the road that lets you know when you enter their domain...and their sign indicates "No Unauthorized Vehicles". You'll be in the Sierra Pelona Mountains which is part of the Angeles NF. The trail is actually a nice wide fire road with beautiful views of many canyons, valleys, and ridges....VerMagnus and I wanted to place a few caches so you could come here and enjoy the hike and the scenery while discovering some easy caches. Be safe and be prepared as you hike in this wilderness. More trails, maps and info can be found at www.LAMountains.com and www.localhikes.com and www.hikesantaclarita.com....enjoy the hike and happy caching!
