This is one of a series of 6 caches we have placed near to the Daneshill Lakes Nature Reserve area.
In each of the 5 "feeder" caches you will find a clue, which you will need to access the 6th and final cache. The first five can be done in any order and of course in isolation too as traditional caches.
Daneshill Lakes Local Nature Reserve was created in the mid-1980s from a collection of shallow gravel extraction pits as part of a major reclamation project by Nottinghamshire County Council. It is now managed by Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust (NWT).
The Nature Reserve falls into two distinct parts, separated by Daneshill Road. To the south, leading off from the car park, is the more open and popular section, with benches and picnic tables, where sailors/windsurfers use the main lake and anglers sit patiently by the shore. Coots and moorhens can be seen among the reeds, and Canada geese, grebes and swans are a common sight. Across the road to the north is a more wooded and secluded area that is specially managed for wildlife.
We have requested permission from NWT to place caches within the Nature Reserve boundaries but have not received this yet, therefore all caches in our series have had to be placed outside the Nature Reserve boundaries for the moment.
A micro film canister type cache containing log-book only (and the clue) situated close to the Millennium Pathway.
