Geocache Description:

A series of 13 caches named after the '12 colonies of Kobol' plus 'Earth'

At the time of posting these caches, we were watching Battlestar Galactica and decided to name our series after each colony.

Highly recommended as a night caching series. It's a verry spooky area!

'Aquaria' is a nano cache and is located on Gibbet Lane, just outside of Stourbridge. Gibbet Lane suggests an unpleasant history and nowadays could be considered equally unpleasant as there is a large sewerage treatment plant just down the road.

Parking is readily available almost anywhere down the lane as the only traffic to use the road is for the plant. You can leave your car here to do the entire series without a problem.

Please be aware that there is light traffic on this road and may include the odd HGV!

This series is not a circular route. It is split into two separate linear walks. This is due to private land blocking the ability to complete a circular route.

We suggest that you complete the series in two parts as set out below.

WALK 1

GC2NZRG Aerilon
GC2NZY9 Earth (premium members cache)
GC2NZRQ Aquaria
GC2NZT2 Canceron
GC2NZXX Virgon
GC2NZXN Tauron
GC2NZXD Scorpia
GC2NZWJ Sagittaron

On completion of walk 1 we recommend re-tracing your steps to begin walk 2

WALK 2

GC2NZTE Gemenon
GC2NZTV Leonis
GC2NZW4 Picon
GC2NZV6 Caprica
GC2NZVH Libran

Throughout the series you will walk on roadways. Past a sewage works (yes, it does smell at times), though public walk/bridleways which run alongside farmland.
You will find yourself in the same field as cattle/livestock at times. Please take great care and make sure you are fully aware of the animals you are passing by. If you are caching with dogs, please respect the local farmers wishes and have your dogs on a lead at all times.
The terrain is very mixed. It will get muddy in places and in at least two locations, you will be dealing with barbed wire. The terrain levels of 4* on some caches reflect the differing hazard levels you will have to contend with.
At times, you will find yourself leaving obvious paths to reach cache locations. Some of these paths are old and seldom walked. We met with a local land owner who was able to point out that you are still using public rights of way in this area when you deviate from paths.
To reach GC2NZW4 Picon, you will have to cross either a large concrete pipe with barbed wire covering it or climb over the gate located next to it. To stay on the public path you have to cross the pipe and walk up a rather steep hill. You will see stiles at the top of the hill which denote the pathways.

It is a loveley area to cache in but contains hazards. We wanted you to be fully aware of what is out there before you start.
