Geocache Description:

Quick little trip off the highway to explore some local history and find a cache ...

Arriving at GZ you will find the Bower Immanual Lutheran Church and Graveyard that dates back to 1899.

Some early pioneers are laid to rest nearby and although quite close to the Main Highway it's surprisingly quiet here.

I was amazed at the amount of bird life in the vicinity and decided what better than to name the cache The Bower Birds.

The little bird sitting on the nearby gate is very cute also!

If you venture further along this road you can make it back to Truro and after the recent flooding throughout this area the colours of the Mid Murray Mallee are the greenest of green.

There are some pretty amazing old ruins out this way ( see a number of Nibs caches ) that make you realise how hard it must have been in the heat of the Australian Summer. It's a truly beautiful area and one that rarely sees so much rain in February.

You are searching for a mid size black screw top container that holds a log book, pencils, stash notes, some PG pathtags and some swaps.

I hope enjoy exploring the history of the mallee region.

Please rehide the cache well in it's hidey hole.
