A quick cache and dash.
Trains on the hourly services in each direction on the Dalmuir – Lanark and Milngavie – Lanark routes, both via Glasgow, stop at Carluke. The timetable is arranged such that there is train approximately every half hour in each direction, except on Sundays, when the Dalmuir – Lanark service does not run. In addition, recently introduced, are 8 trains from Edinburgh (to Glasgow) and 6 trains to Edinburgh (from Glasgow), Monday to Saturday. So considerate of ScotRail to provide trains for the citizens of Edinburgh to get to and from Carluke.
A free 330 space Park and Ride car park was recently constructed with high intensity lighting and many CCTV cameras. The planners obviously know something that the rest of us don’t.
The cache can be accessed from the pavement, but not by the vertically challenged. There's no room for a pen or pencil, so please bring you own.
Accessible to wheelchair users only if the occupant can briefly stand up.
