Hoghenge Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hoosier_Reviewer: Since there has been no response to my previous note, I am archiving the cache.

While we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you for a reasonable amount of time, we cannot do so indefinitely. In light of the lack of communication regarding this geocache, it has been archived to free up the area for new placements. You will not be able to unarchive this listing. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up this geocache or any remaining bits as soon as possible.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived."

Thank you,

Geocache Description:

You are looking for a small lock&lock, small enough for a few small items. Bring your own pencil, and please rehide pushing it as far back as possible.

EDIT: Location has moved slightly!

Bikers really are the nicest people. This cache was placed with permission of the general manager of the nearby hog shop.

The manager also informed me that the structures, nicknamed "Hoghenge" and often used as background for pictures of new bike owners, are made from local limestone, and created by artist Mark Wallace, who now lives in Arizona. Apparently it was raining the day these were installed, c. 1999, but that didn't bother anybody. In fact they think that helped these settle a little better.

The cache contains a huge fake diamond and a Honduran 5 centavo Lempira coin for trade.

Congrats to the First to Find on my first hide, Alex Lamont!

Rehidden on 11 nov 2011, with a compass for trading.
Rehidden again on 19 may 2013.
