Geocache Description:

Winfield City Lake requires a $4.00 dollar recreation permit to visit the grounds. You can obtain permits at the Lake Office, now located at the Marina. Please take a moment to visit the website and read the rules and regulations. The park rangers are very nice and aware of the Geocaches at the lake. Please display your permit at all times.

Special thanks to QuickSilver1 for helping coordinate with the Park Rangers and keeping up the good public relations.

Island in the Stream

This Geocache is located at the east end of Timber Creek, also known as Winfield Lake. This section of land is reserved for hiking & biking only, and parking is available. The cache is located on a nice little quiet piece of land just east of the lake. The creek has winded around and created an island here in the woods that I found while exploring the area. I found several log jam crossings, but you may have to get your toes wet depending on the timing. There is an old giant Sycamour tree near GZ, make sure you stop and check it out. Enjoy.
