"Do geocachers like peanut
butter more than others, or do they just need the jars?"

Congratulations on finding
1,000 caches, Mike! I've had the pleasure of getting to know
you through emails and we've attended a few events together -
haven't had the pleasure of caching together yet but maybe someday
we'll meet on the trail? You are always smiling (and so is
your wife!) when I see you at events. And you seem to be
having the time of your life finding plastic containers out in the
woods. Glad to see that you are getting closer (everyday!) to
the end of your geocaching streak - it has been a tough winter to
tackle this challenge but spring is coming so I know that you will
make it! And we have enjoyed your great hides and look
forward to many more!! - Quilting is fun too

I've only met Mike a few times, but every time has
been a positive experience. I've enjoyed finding his caches; you
can tell he puts a lot of care into them, rather than just slapping
a nano on a signpost (like I usually do with my hides). He's
currently on a consecutive days caching streak of over 200. I'm
about a week behind him. Hopefully, we'll both make it to a year
and can have a celebratory event. Oh, and of course, he's got the
required first name to be a male cacher in the 763 area code. See
you on the trails, Mike! - sparkyfry

Congratulations, Mike Deotis, on 1,000 finds! Mike
is a cacher who adds so much to geocaching. His hides are always
thoughtfully placed, he takes responsibility for his actions, and
he is a very sincere and trustworthy person. I think one mark of a
geocacher is the care they put into their logs, and Mike always
takes the time to say something complimentary and original about a
cache. I always enjoy reading his logs, and it's been fun watching
him cross the 200-cache mark in his consecutive days streak. Here's
hoping you'll be able to make it the rest of the way, but whatever
you do, I'm sure you'll have fun and do it with class! Good luck on
the next thousand! - Sharknose Bunnies

Congratulations, Mike, on reaching the milestone of
1000 finds! I look forward to seeing you on the caching
trails as you move toward your next milestone! - gpcat

My family and I met Mike on the Southeast side of
Crystal Lake in Robbinsdale last June. Where he was nice enough to
come out and play "Your getting warmer" with us. Not only did he
help us with that cache, he's helped us other's besides. I have a
couple of FTF's from his caches too. Like the day I was doing my
custodian job at the church, one of his cache's popped up, less
than a mile away. Heck yeah, I'll grab that. I just wish I had
missed the doggie doo on the way out. How he got into that park
unscathed is beyond me. If you've ever read one of Mike's log's, or
gotten to know him, you'll be wondering the same things. How did he
get out alive? Why is he playing a live action game of "Chicken"
with two Semi's? Did he really see A seven foot tall fur
covered swamp frog or someone that just has high tech snow
shoes How much closer could he have parked? Did he find a
cache to keep his streak alive? What other new adventure has
befallen him today? So our hats are off to a great guy. Hope the
next 1000 are just as much fun as the first 1000! - 3Humphs

We first met Mike when we were checking one of our
caches. From afar he had that geocaching-look about him, you know,
a little bit suspicious standing in a wooded area where others
seldom tread. Seems he was checking the cache too. Since then we've
met up with him on the trail, have enjoyed seeking his caches on
FTF quests and have had the pleasure of caching with his wife and
him on a couple occasions. He's a great guy and always fun to talk
with and be with. His stories and logs are as good as they get.
Thanks for your friendship and the impetus to eat more
peanutbutter. Congrats on your milestone!- Brooklyn51
