In questo posto si teneva un mercato per vendere tabacco, bestiame carne utensili utili e pelli.
Questo si praticava fino a 150 anni fa dai pastori per scampiare o vendere, anche dalle valli
vicine venivano per sopravvivere nei tempi duri dove si viveva soltanto di questo.
I tedeschi lo chiamavano “Plöta-Markt” al mercato, appunto per le foglie di tabacco che si
vendevano qui. Cosi viene chiamato ancor' oggi il mercato di Ortisei a ottobre dove veniva
appunto venduto di queste foglie da mercanti provenienti dall' Italia.
Il mercato di “Col Ciarnacëi” era sempre interessante e lo si conosceva anche da lontano.
Il nome “Ciarnacëi” deriva dalla parola carne che si vendeva qui.
La gente cucinava anche il pranzo in questo postoe cucinavano su questi massi e facevano
anche i crafen. I massi sembrano fatti apposta per allora, con l'acqua non troppo lontana.
Da qui passa anche il Vecchio famoso sentiero “Troi Paian” che collegava Venezia per
trasportare di ferro che veniva smaltito da una cava di “Fedom” (Ferro, detto allora dai veneti).
La parola “Paian” deriva da “Pagus” per dire che il sentiero passava oltre monti, luoghi e vallate
lontani dai centri.

Werkzeuge verkauft und getauscht wurden.
Dies war bis vor 150 Jahren von den Hirten ausgeübt, auch aus den Tälern In der Nähe
kamen sie, um in schwierigen Zeiten zu überleben.
Die Deutschen nannten diesen Markt “Plöta-Markt”, gerade weil hier Tabakblätter verkauft
wurden. Auch so nännt man heut zu tage den Markt in St.Ulrich im Oktober, wo man diese
Blättern von italienischen Kaufleuten verkauft wurden.
Der Markt "Col Ciarnacëi"war immer interessant und das wusten auch die Leute aus der Ferne.
Der Name "Ciarnacëi" stammt aus dem Wort Fleisch das hier verkauft wurde.
Man kochte hier auch Mittag auf diese Felsen und Krapfen wurden auch gemacht.
Die Felsblöcke schienen dafür wie gemacht, mit dem Wasser was nicht weit weg von hier ist.
Hier durchquert auch der berühmte Waldweg "Troi Paian", das mit Venedig verbunden war um
Eisen zu transportieren das von einem Steinbruch in "Fedom" (Ferro) abgebaut wurde.
Das Wort "Paian"kommt von "Pagus" so zu sagen, dass der Weg über Berge, Täler und Orte
weg von den Zentren führte.

In this place it held a market to sell tobacco, livestock, meat and skins useful tools.
