The Gorham Bridge in Pittsford, VT, is a classic example of a New England covered bridge. It was originally built in 1842 and was recently renovated. It crosses Otter Creek near the border of Pttsford and Proctor and is a great place to watch the foliage change in fall. It's also a great place for a geocache.
This cache is part of Popular Mechanics' series of caches that were hidden as part of an article on geocaching in the May 2011 issue. It is encased in a medium-sized Tupperware container. Inside the cache is a free t-shirt for the first lucky cacher to find it (if you take it, please leave something fun for the next cacher). There's also a Travel Bug that is aching for a fun trip.
To find the cache, you've got to spend a bit of time investigating the bridge and appreciating its construction. Make sure to watch out for cars crossing the bridge as you explore.
