This cache is across the road from the Foxton Golf Course and
the number 18 fairway that runs parallel with State-Highway 1.
Golfers teeing off from the number 18 tee, and who have a slice
or hook problem, see their ball fly over the fence and down the
road. Where do these balls end up because the golfers never search
for them?
The cache is next to a very busy road, so care needed when
stopping, but room to stop off on the side of the road (travelling
South is the best option).
The cache has a lock and requires the following number sequence
to open;
(#) A Bogey is how many shots over Par?
(#) A Birdie is how many shots under Par?
(#) The golfer on the 18th Tee that hooks the ball down the road,
should in golf etiquette shout a warning to you in your car that
sounds like a number (more likely the golfer will say something
else!)
This cache is our first, and decided to place it at the start
location for where it all began for us as we set out from this site
to discover the world of Geocaching and walk in a straight line,
across the golf course, through a pine forest and blackberry to get
to GC1FA50 by Paul303 back in 2008. We had great fun that day and
continue to do so in the world of Geocaching. So now time to start
making some caches in return
