Geocache Description:

This is the eighth in the "Curse of the FTF (Wellington)" series of caches. Thank you to boxhill for initiating the series with Curse of the FTF #1 (Wellington) – GC2K35Q.

The rules are really simple ...

Guidelines for this series:

1. The FTF'er should place the next cache in the series (in this case, Curse of the FTF #9 (Wellington)) within one month. Please note that only the FTF'er, and not everyone who finds this cache, should place the next cache.

2. You can be the FTF for only one cache in this series; and no joint-FTFs will be accepted on these caches. This spreads the FTF love around, and gives others a chance to play along. (This is at least until everyone who wants to has had ago at FTF.)

3. The next cache can be of any size or type (multi, puzzle, traditional, etc.), but I do ask that you hide it within the Greater Wellington area (Wellington, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, Porirua, and Kapiti Coast up to Waikanae), and if it is a puzzle then it cannot be too hard, as it should be easy enough for everyone to find.

4. You must include this set of guidelines in your listing for the series. I will be happy to answer any questions concerning the guidelines, or about the placing of caches for those who have not placed a cache before.

There is no requirement besides the standard signing of the cache log to prevent you from logging this cache when found. Everyone should log their find, and hopefully the FTF person will play along and place another cache, but it is in no way a requirement for logging your find. But if you don't intend to carry on the series, please do not claim the FTF, and leave it for someone else.

Under Geocaching guidelines, while there is no requirement for the FTF to place a new cache within a month, it is hoped that future FTF'ers, if they so wish, will enter into the spirit of the series, and continue to place new caches.

The cache is not located at the given co-ordinates; however this is a good place to park. If you’re in the market for a new receiver you can pick up one close by too.

The cache can be located at S41 14.ABC E174 48.DEF, and can be found by solving the following simple puzzle:

If 8 + 4 = 96 and 2 + 3 = 10, then:

1 + 6 = A
7 + 2 = BC
2 + 1 = D
3 + 28 = EF

You are looking for a 1.2 litre camouflaged sistema container which contains a log book, 2 pencils, some swaps; plus a mintie as a FTF prize.

Please NOTE that you must sign the logbook for each individual cacher, Finds logged not corresponding with the logbook may be deleted.

Please re-hide the container exactly as you find them to prevent from being muggled.

Remember - no joint FTFs accepted on these caches!
