Geocache Description:

the meeting of the pacific ocean and the umpqua river makes for a unique harbor setting. you can take the trail behind the south jetty (please do not climb any of the jettys, for 'sneaker' waves can occur at anytime and wreak havoc, avoid the old saying, well they're doing it, well you shouldn't! be safe).

you can get up close and personal with a huge grounded channel marker but before you do, you might want to clip your hoodie together for it can get rather windy here. the boughs of the trees can really dance in the wind at times. so take a leisurely stroll through the grass and you find all kinds of treasures.
