Geocache Description:

The Adventures of Buddy Love, Geo Hound Extraordinaire. Part 3

Buddy had been one of the youngest and brightest to join H.O.U.N.D. He was just a pup when he started taking classes from Lilly. She taught everything from cryptography and herbalism to jungle survival. But the talent she was most proud of was her ability to allure her enemies. Within the organization she was known as ‘Charming Lilly’.

She had a way of luring her target in and turning them into putty. Then she would use her hypnotic charm to bend them to her will. Buddy studied under her tutelage and proved to be an apt student. Within six months he had mastered her brand of obedience training. He found that he could captivate and beguile anyone he met. A talent worthy of a master spy.

But the toughest training he endured was provided by Dunkin. He was a sharp character who had once been a drill sergeant in the Chinese army. Dunkin specialized in stealth and sneak attacks. He was as tough as they came and he demanded the best from his students. For weeks on end he would raise his troops in the early hours of the morning and send them backpacking through the densest forest.

They marched into deep ravines and over rocky mountains. Dunkin would always manage to slip away from the pack only to re-appear from a different direction in a mock attack. Buddy soon learned he must always be on his toes or he would feel the wrath of Dunkin’s martial arts.

The final exam for Dunkin’s course was a forced march along an old railway line. At periodic intervals, Dunkin would sneak up on a student. With lightening fast reflexes he would cover their head with a cloth bag and pull them from the march. Most of the nabbing went unnoticed, even by the most observant students. When Buddy was pulled from middle of the line it happened so fast he was not able to get off a single growl. He was dragged from the trail and felt strong arms around his neck. Breathing was very difficult and he soon passed out.

When he awoke, he was at the bottom of a ravine. Large trees towered overhead. He had a small vial of water and a single biscuit for food. He was on his own, expected to survive in an unknown location for an indefinite period of time. Or die trying.
