Whispering Trees Night Cache Mystery Cache
The Foggy Duo: To All concerned
We have redone maintenance on this cache so many times but as soon as we do 'someone' appears to remove some or all of the studs and to be honest we have completely lost heart in it.
We have had a discussion and feel that this may be the time to call it a day on this cache
It is very near to where we live and every few weeks we replace missing studs but now enough is enough.
Sorry to all those who tried to find the cache but because of some 'spoilsport' failed.
The Foggy Duo.

Whispering Trees is a Night Cache.
This cache can only be done in darkness by torch light. It is not recommended, due to the nature of the area, you ever attempt to do this cache alone. Reflective markers will guide you to your goal, which lies in an unmarked, shallow grave behind an old tree. We all know how spooky woods can be, I wont bore you with haunted stories, I know all you 'grown-ups' are never going to believe any of that.. Lets just say, its called Whispering Trees for a reason..
The coordinates given are for the parking only. Once parked, take the path west a few hundred yards to the start point at N50° 08.392 W005° 25.762. Here you will find a Kissing gate marked with a red reflector. This is the entrance to the woods and, where when testing this cache late last Thursday, I first felt that spinal chill....
For best results, hold the torch at eye level and scan the surrounding area for the first reflective tack. This has two advantages as the tacks reflect better and you can hold your companions free hand. By standing beside each reflective tack as you go you should, with a reasonable torch, be able to see the next. At points along the way it will be nessesery to negotiate the odd fallen tree. So remember to look down at what your walking on.
The tacks are quite evenly spaced and around 26 in total. Don't panic if you miss one as the final cache location is marked with three tacks in a triangle. I've also taken the time to set out some red reflectors. These will guide you from the cache site, back to a path and along to the starting point.
Mind the tree roots as you go, these are slippy! Even in the summer months.
Night Caching is as spooky or as fun as you want to make it. Kids love the adventure and the staying up late while, we like to spook each other, on misty damp haunted nights.
We hope, which ever way you chose to do this, you enjoy the trail and find the prize.
Oh, as a last note, It might be wise to take some spare torch batteries. Also two reflections very close together and growling may well be wildlife and wont guide you to the cache..
At the time of hiding, the cache contanes: The usual swaps, Logbook and First To Find Keyring. There's also a couple TB's Starting their big adventures.
