Micro cache hidden near The Church of the Good Shepherd in Hamstreet, Kent.
Built in 1872 as a Methodist chapel, the Church of the Good Shepherd is a relatively modern church with not too much indepth history. It does however have some interesting features, the most noticeble being that it is graveyard-less!
It also boasts an underground stream which runs underneath the church, and front door designs which mirror that of the Saw Joinery slightly further up the road on the opposite side (want to guess who built the doors?!).
The church is also a local ecumenical project due to structural problems at St Mary's church in Orlestone preventing regular services.
Situated in this busy village, the church is active and holds regular services as well as coffee mornings, local group meetings and festive bazzars in the adjoining church hall.
Cache is placed with kind permission of the Reverend. Please note as the cache is hidden on the premesis both stealth and respect is needed here!
*To open the cache, press the dots on the lid with both thumbs and it should click open*
If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
