Geocache Description:

This puzzle cache was created to coincide with an event being held at 34 Cambridge St., Burlington, MA. That place is not the only store in that shopping area. As a matter of fact there are 17 of them stretching from a craft store starting with M to a furniture store with the initials EA.

This is not a commercial endorsement of any of the businesses but rather just an exercise in counting of letters. (Do not count punctuation.) In this shopping plaza each business has its name in big letters above the store. A couple of them have very specific, corporate signs but most are just big letters that are red, black, blue, gray or white. Hopefully, no one is so color blind that they cannot tell the difference between them.

The cache is located at N 42 29.--- W71 11.---. Use the following to determine exact amount to add to the north portion and the exact amount to subtract from the west portion of the posted coordinates to determine where the final is located.

When looking at the stores consider Michaels store #1 and Ethan Allen as store #17. The remaining stores are consecutive numbers going from left to right. (Store #4 was a liquor store but is closed and not used in any calculations.) For calculating the west portion, use the following:
A. ____ For Michaels there are a total of 5 words. Count the number of red letters.
B. ____ For the store that sells mattresses (store #9) count the number of white letters.
C. ____ Count the number of blue letters for store #17.
D. ____ For store #10, 11, 12 &13 count the number of blue letters.
E. ____ Count the number of blue letters for store #14.
= _____ Total (Subtract that from 209 for the last three digits)

Now that was not too bad was it? You will need to use the following to determine what to add to the north portion of the posted coordinates:

A. ____ Store #3 is iparty. Count the number of times i shows on the sign.
B. ____ Store #15 is Roche Brothers. The second word is in red letters, count the number of red letters.
C. ____ While you are looking at that end, count the number of black letters for store #16.
D. ____ For store #7 count the number of green letters.
E. ____ Three of the stores you have not looked at up to this point have white letters. Count the total number of white letters.
= _____ Total (Add that to 022 for the last three digits.)

Now that you have the last three digits for the north and west plug them into N 42 29.--- W71 11.--- to determine where the cache is located.

Good luck and good caching,

Loch Cache
