Marie Louise Rocks - OK! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Mr'nMrsT: As I no longer visit this area, which is close to where I used to work, and having replaced the cache a few times over the years, I have reluctantly decided to archive this cache.

Maybe somebody else would like to place a new cache in the area?

Geocache Description:

In a quiet park in Didsbury. Some muggle activity but generally quiet.

Due to the surrounding foliage GPS readings can be a bit haphazard. The co-ordinates given are the best I can get & have been checked on GE.

Marie Louise Gardens is a 3.4 hectare oasis of peace and tranquillity in one of Manchester 's most densely populated suburbs, often described as a hidden gem, because so many residents are unaware of their existence until they stumble across them.
The site was given to the citizens of Manchester in 1903 by Josephine Silkenstädt, in memory of her daughter, Marie Louise, who died young in 1891, aged 26.
The park has over 250 mature trees, including some rare ones, which together with the many shrubs and lawned areas, create a unique atmosphere of quiet seclusion. It is home to a wide variety of activities ranging from a morning stroll with the dog to Tai Chi or a picnic.

The park is open from dawn 'til dusk & there is ample parking on the side roads around the park.

The cache container is a small box lager enough to take TBs & coins and contains a log and pencil.
