ANGLES AND DIMENSIONS Mystery Cache

A book by Dan Brown inspired me to develop this cache. Use the clues to determine these coordinates:

This location is a safe distance, approximately 1/2 mile, from an Anti-Matter device. Should you decide to leave the safe location and approach the Anti-Matter device, then follow the instructions and arrow. Once you leave this safe location, there is no turning back. "THE PAST IS OUR PRESENT TO YOU."

It might require some group effort to gather all the clues. So, for "First To Find" there are several Gift Certificates in the cache container to be shared in case there are more than one in the FTF group. The container is a common type and is certainly recognizable. It is locked so no one but the "ENLIGHTENED ONES” can tamper with the Anti-Matter device inside. The FINAL cache is inside a business, so their business hours must be observed.

The owner of this cache has a street in Memphis named after him. Not just a name exactly like his, but really named in his honor. There already was a road and a street like my first name, but the street you need is my middle name. It is not a very long street, only a couple of blocks long. Not much honor there, huh? On that street is a house that is clearly not built by the contractor that built the rest. It is different in appearance, and is at the northern end of the street. Your task is to discover the address number over the porch. Be careful…the mailbox in front is NOT the correct number.

Guarding the Pyramid was a great Pharaoh. He was moved to the UofM campus. Since Ramesses is a large statue he is not intimidated by many things, but other statues are his worse rivals. He watches them all throughout Shelby.

There is an intersection of four streets in Memphis. None of these streets cross each other, but there is a traffic signal there to alert who has the right-of-way. The symbols you need are on the southwest corner behind a concrete marker. Check inside the weed barrier for a pill fob.

The Shelby County Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library contains much knowledge. Search the pages of the correct codex and discover the next set of symbols: Fourth floor: 929.80942 F835a2 pg. 2156. Guess whose Coat of Arms is pictured there? Please be gentle with the artifacts. The clue is on a separate sheet of paper in the book.

Legend has it that the Memphis City Schools are teaching alternative religions. Various schools organize together according to their locations to share ideologies. By plotting those on a map one can discover what religion they are teaching. So, Group "A" includes The Rams, The Chiefs, and The Mustangs. Group "B" includes The Cougars, The Mighty Bears, and The Rockets. Plotting these two groups will reveal the symbol of their ideology. What they are teaching is not as important as where the center of that emblem is located, as that gives you your next set of symbols. Kroger has a RANDMcNALLY I found to be helpful. Some information has been leaked but has not been verified: The Mustangs may be East High School on Poplar. The Chiefs are not Cherokee, nor Chickasaw. The Cougars are the mascot for so many schools so consider Keystone. The Rockets are neither Goodlett nor Hickory Ridge.

This scene is represented several places throughout the land, but there is a very tall representation of it here in Memphis. Align with them northwesterly about .41 miles away. Find two symbols about three feet off the ground.

There are many mile markers around the Mid-South indicating how far it is to Memphis. If you were to follow each highway to the zero mile marker, what school would you be near?

There is a "Green Path" that references Electric Overlook to Beaver Boondocks. Between these two points is a large SBA Tower (site ID#TN05157). It is close to Bottomland Glen and there are comfort facilities nearby. West Trailhead/Parking is very close also. A gate can close the trail there. The symbols are on the latch post (not the hinge post). This gate is not the one that can close off the parking, rather it can close the trail near the bridge.

There are six statues guarding the west and south entrances of a prominent building in downtown Memphis. Excellent pictures of them are on-line. I visited with five of them and took their picture. Who got left out?

There are various electrical components under this tower. The symbols you need are in a magnetic key holder on/under a piece of equipment. Check the side close to the freeway.

You now have fourteen sets of symbols representating the fourteen numbers of the coordinates. THE KEY IS IN MEMPHIS. Search South Main near the old train station. Find the Anti-Matter device. Instructions for disarming it are in the log. Follow the instructions! You will then be one of "The Enlightened Ones," so sign the log, redeem a gift certificate, and enjoy yourself.
