Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden close to one of the more unusual sights in Blaby, which I regularly drive past.

'Bullseye' - a 1929 Bagnall Steam train engine, was moved to this field in 2008 by a local farmer to promote a campaign for the reopening of Blaby Station.

This station, which was located just up the nearby embankment, was on the Birmingham to Peterborough line and shut in 1968. Bullseye is a rare example of a fireless steam engine and was used in factories where flying sparks would be dangerous. It was 'charged' by a fire in the workplace instead of having its own furnace.

The cache is hidden on a path next to the 'train' field. You will need to bring a pen(cil) to sign the log. There is a pull-in nearby in front of the field but please park considerately and note this is very close to a bus stop. Alternatively you can park in Blaby centre or Winchester Road Industrial estate, both of which are near by.

Also note this is a very busy road so please be careful especially with young children (the footpath under the bridge on one side is very narrow).
