Kyoto prefectural center for arts and culture opened it (1970) as the culture institution which totalled both of presentation such as drama / a traditional entertainment / dancing / the music and the exhibitions such as art / the industrial arts work as one of the commemorative businesses as a foothold of the culture artwork in Kyoto for Kyoto open agency 100 years on January 8 in 1970.
Thereafter, more than 40 years, it is used as nuclear site in creation / dispatch of the culture art in Kyoto widely.

　京都府立文化芸術会館は、京都府開庁100年記念事業のひとつとして、京都における文化芸術活動の拠点として、演劇・古典芸能・舞踊・音楽などの上演及び美術･工芸作品等の展示の両者を総合した文化施設として、昭和45年（1970年）1月８日に開館しました。
　以来40年以上、京都における文化芸術の創造･発信の中核施設として広く利用されています。
