Geocache Description:

The Big Indian Lake Series ......

The Umlah and Drysdale families obtained the land around Big Indian Lake from the original grantees in1815. The 1865 map of Greenhead and Goodwood show John Umlah & Chas Drysdale as the principle land owners. The lake became part of the water supply for Halifax with a pipeline taking the water over to Long Lake.

Following the pipeline from N 44' 36.975 W 063' 40 .152 will give one access to the lake and the series.

A word of caution, signs of big dogs (coyotes) have been seen in the area and trails.

Take note, some of the caches in this series are located on islands and/or accessible from the ice, so check, ice thickness and take the proper precautions.

You may want to nab other caches in this series while in the area, check the "Big Indian"
bookmark list, we'll keep it up to date as the caches are published.
