Cache is a 1.2 l camo sistema container. When placed contained Logicol ear buds, log book, pen and cache note. This is the last in my Gap series, enjoy.
The Gap is a landmark visible from many locations, but especially from State HW 1 on the Kilmog section. A popular, though distant tramping destination, especially in past years as it requires a bit more effort to reach these days because of the locked gates on the Mountain Road.
I recommend cachers refer to Antony Hamel’s book- Dunedin Tracks and trails for full directions on how to get there. The cache was placed shortly after observing the 2 min silence for the Christchurch Earthquake victims at 12.51 pm on the 1st of March 2011.
Be aware that this is a remote experience and only those fit and experienced in long distance tramping should attempt it. Weather conditions can change rapidly, and it is essential that you carry adequate clothing food and water.
