Geocache Description:

Of all of Charlotte's treasures, the Fourth Ward neighborhood is truly one of the greatest. Blending old Victorian homes with modern condos this neighborhood is the best Charlotte has to offer.

Many of the streets in Fourth Ward either dead-end or end with a small circle or park. The "Eighth Street Island" is one of my favorite dead ends and we walk past here every day. There are a couple of park benches here for you to rest on under the crepe myrtles while you ponder your next cache.

My four year old and I like to pretend that this area is an island in the middle of a raging ocean, hence its name and theme. She loves to walk along the sloped walls (with a little assistance from her over-protective father, of course!) while our dog sniffs out clues and treasures completely unrelated to geocaching.

Note that because of the buildings and trees around this location it's hard to get a good GPS signal which is why the clue is a dead giveaway.

!!! FTF goes to graysmeade, who found within minutes of publishing !!!!!
