Elk starts south of the Town of McKean. It flows under Interstate 79 at the McKean exit, under West Road in the Village of Sterrettania, under State Route 98 at Folly's End Campground south of the Town of Fairview, under the former site of the scenic covered bridge (destroyed by fire in 1998) on Gudgeonville Road, then northwest through a mostly wooded area passing under Interstate 90, then north under U.S. Route 20 in Girard and under U.S. Route 5 in Lake City and on to Lake Erie.
Park at the provided coordinates. There is plenty of off road parking. The road down to the parking area is not maintained in the winter. (During times of heavy snow you will have to park up the hill on the maintained road and hike it in.)
Park in the lot and follow the fisherman's path closest to the creek till you near GZ. There is a small stream to cross but can be easily crossed near the creek without getting your feet wet. It is about a 0.2 mile hike to the cache.
Please be courteous, clean and respectful of the area. This area is open to the public and is heavily used during the steelhead run. Please use stealth when fishermen are nearby.
Please rehide the cache at least as good as you found it.
