At last you have reached the finishing line. 1st Heaton Vale Sea Scouts being the sixteenth and last group that make up the Stockport Scouting District of Greater Manchester East County. All is not as it appears here as this is no normal Scout Group. As the title suggests this is a Sea Scout Group and the only one in Stockport District. It will come as no surprise that the HQ is named the Cutty Sark but where is the water? Perhaps it is because 1st Heaton Vale is the most westerly group in the district and therefor nearest the Irish Sea that the site has been colonised by Sea Scouts. The programme of the group is by its nature nautical featuring canoeing and all forms of sailing and maritime activities.
The group is very successful featuring all three group based youth sections Beaver Scouts for the 6 - 8 year olds, Cub Scouts for the 8 - 10 1/2 year olds and a thriving Sea Scout Troop for the 10 1/2 - 14 1/2 year olds. If there are any caches who would like more information on the group or would like to become involved in a youth or adult capacity please contact the cache owner who would be more than glad to assist you in making contact.
1st Heaton Vale Scouts can be identified by their neckers which are Royal Blue and White.
Downtown Heaton Vale is a busy spot opposite shops and pubs and all manner of muggle species. Please try to be descrete when near to the cache site which is fully accessible from the public pavement.
